2. John2 Barker (John1) was born in Monaghan, Ireland 1815. John died October 23, 1880 in Fairey Meadow, Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia, at 65 years of age. His body was interred October 25, 1880 in Pioneer, Cemetary, New South Wales, Australia.
He married Margaret Hannah in Ireland, 1832. Margaret was born in Dromore, Down, Ireland 1803. Margaret died March 1, 1892 in Fairey Meadow, Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia, at 88 years of age. Her body was interred March 1, 1892 in Pioneer, Cemetery, Wollongong. Arrived in Australia 1841 on the Argyle [4/4813,p.19] Arrived Sydney 12th April 1841 Received a 53 pound bounty John Labourer 28, Margaret Dairymaid 37, Elisabeth 8, Anne 6 and Infant son. A long a terrible storm in the Bay of Biscay. The Argyle arrived in Hobson's Bay 2pm March 1st 1841 and was met by the steamer Governor Arthur. it carried Georgiana McRae and her family as well as Samuel and Judith Furphy, parents of Joseph Furphy. Also noted a Christmas Card for a J. K. Moir Melbourne for descendents of the Argyle arrivals.

South Wales, Australia, at 71 years of age. Her body was interred June 27, 1905 in C Of E Cemetery, Waverly, New South Wales,
Australia. She married William Smith in St Michaels, Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia, July 4, 1855.
William was born in Bolton, Lancashire, England October 27, 1833. William was the son of William John Smith and Margaret
Alison. William died August 28, 1892 in Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia, at 58 years of age. His body was interred
August 30, 1892 in Presbyterian Cem, Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia. He was christened in St Peter, Bolton Le Moor,
Lancashire, England. (See William Smith for the continuation of this line.) Arrived Australia on the
Argyle in 1841 [Shelf 4/4813,p.19] Unable to verify birth. 12 may 91 !Purchased a Land Grant plot at Tomerong in 11 March 1905. This land
was immediately sold to her son Robert by her son George after her death. Died at her sons home(George Franklin Smith), 22 McDonald Street,
Paddington. Buried in Waverly Cemetery. Have copy of certificate.

She was christened in Illawarra Parish, Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia, December 26, 1843.
