He married Enid Blanche Vost in Nowra, N.s.w, Aust, August 25, 1956. Enid was born in Nowra, N.s.w, Aust April 29, 1929. Enid is the daughter of Onward Charles Vost and Dorris Irene Campbell. She was christened in Nowra, N.s.w, Aust.

Alan Dent and Enid Blanche Vost had the following children:

2 i. Kerry² Dent was born in Nowra, N.s.w, Aust July 1, 1957.

3 ii. Leanne Dent was born in Nowra, N.s.w, Aust March 24, 1963.
