1. James William¹ Gerrett was born in Camperdown, N.s.w, Aust June 30, 1844. James died May 1927 in Camperdown, Nowra, New South Wales, Australia, at 82 years of age. His body was interred May 31, 1927 in Woronora, N.s.w, Aust.

He married Mary Warner Smith in Nowra, Nowra, New South Wales, Australia, after 1867. Mary was born in Jamberro, New South Wales, Australia December 23, 1847. Mary was the daughter of John Smith and Jane Eliza Smith. Mary died after 1900 in Hurstville, Newtown, New South Wales, Australia. She was christened February 20, 1848.

James William Gerrett and Mary Warner Smith had the following children:

+ 2 i. James William² Gerrett was born after 1867.

3 ii. Alice Maude Mary Gerrett was born in Nowra, N.s.w, Aust August 29, 1872. Alice died August 24, 1937 at 64 years of age. She married John Gill Tingate November 3, 1896. John was born September 4, 1863. John died December 2, 1945 at 82 years of age.

4 iii. Harriett Sybella Gerrett was born August 7, 1874. Harriett died November 4, 1964 at 90 years of age. She married Harry Lark.

5 iv. Edith Jane Gerrett was born November 3, 1875. Edith died March 8, 1967 at 91 years of age. She married Charles Christian Patterson December 20, 1894. Charles was born February 16, 1864. Charles died July 3, 1945 at 81 years of age. (See Charles Christian Patterson for the continuation of this line.)

6 v. Joseph E Gerrett was born in Nowra, Nsw, Aust February 1877. Joseph died March 1, 1877 in Nowra, Nsw, Aust, at less than one year of age.

7 vi. Florence Olive Gerrett was born February 12, 1878. Florence died February 15, 1961 at 83 years of age. She married George A Grimshaw 1901.

+ 8 vii. John Oswald H Gerrett was born January 10, 1880.

9 viii. Lilian Emily Beatrice Gerrett was born in Newtown, N.s.w, Aust March 20, 1882. Lilian died September 19, 1957 at 75 years of age. She married Manuel Sharpe.

10 ix. Gertrude Ethel Gerrett was born August 6, 1884. Gertrude died August 19, 1933 in Sydney, N.s.w, Aust, at 49 years of age. She married Walter B Brown 1902.
