He married Elizabeth Jane Smith in Nowra, Nsw, Aust, 1883. Elizabeth was born in Greenhills, Numba, New South Wales, Australia January 27, 1855. Elizabeth was the daughter of John Smith and Jane Eliza Smith. Elizabeth died October 20, 1939 in Nowra, Nowra, New South Wales, Australia, at 84 years of age. She was christened in Presby Church, Nowra, N.s.w, Australia, March 21, 1855. Birth Certificate No. 7990

Steven Henry Leatheam and Elizabeth Jane Smith had the following children:
