He married twice. He married Anne Ellen Gibb in Palmer St Prbyt, Darlinghurst, New South Wales, Australia, June 21, 1905. Anne was born in Waterloo, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia 1878. Anne was the daughter of Ernest John Gibb and Annette Louisa Furlong. Anne died November 9, 1909 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, at 31 years of age. Her body was interred in Rookwood Cmt, New South Wales, Australia. He married May Sullivan in Rosebay, New South Wales, Australia, November 5, 1914. May was born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia before 1900. May was the daughter of Charles Sullivan and Annie Furlong. May died February 5, 1968 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, at 69 years of age. Fought in the Boer war with brother Robert Smith. Under the command of Hon Col J. A. K. Mackay. Note SMITH DOC for description. Have pictures before and after the war as well as one on horseback. Have Victoria Medal marked Sgt. G.F. Smith New South Wales Imperial Bushmen. Certificate of Discharge. Entered Army April 1 1900 at Sydney. Discharged Army July 17 1901. Age 24 Rank Lance Seargeant. Character Very Good, Noted that Trade was Contractor. Also that intended place of residence, Cedar Hill Tomerong was crossed out and replaced by Allerobo, Albury, NSW. Rather interesting as this is where is Uncle Robert Smith lived. Entered the New South Wales penal system as a warder rose to be Prison Governor of Goulburn, Paramatta and Bathurst Gaols. SMITH DOC History of Goulburn. His original middle name was originaly Francis and changed to Franklin in 1906 by deed poll. As per s. RS. Masonic Record: Joined Lodge Paddington Ionic #181 3 Nov 1904. Became Master Mason 2 Feb 1905. He resigned 3 Mar 1926. Certificate #19501. Position Warder, Darlinghurst Prison. Affiliated with Lodge Resurgo #223 18 Sept 1912. Resigned 4 Feb 1914. Affliiated with Lodge Rose Bay #371 4 Febuary 1921. Position as Manager. Now a Past Grand Steward Became Foundation Member Lodge Parramatta Temperence #521 5 Mar 1924 and resigned 23 May 1928. Joined Lodge Barham #561 at Bathurst 5 Nov 1925 and resigned 1 Feb 1929. Position was Gaol Superintendent. Affliated with Lodge Duke of Edinburgh #76 at Goulburn 14 Nov 1928 and resigned 18 Dec 1929. Cecil died April 5, 1963 in Toongabbie, New South Wales, Australia, at 70 years of age. His body was interred April 8, 1963 in Rookwood Crmt, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. child 79 v. John Barker Ivan Smith was born in New South Wales, Australia October 8, 1919. John died February 13, 1945 in Sandakan, Borneo, at 25 years of age. His body was interred in Borneo. In the Australian Black Watch Regiment. Picture available. Have a set of Cufflinks belonging to John. Died in POW Camp at Sandakan. NX.20593 Cpl 2/20 Battalion Captured at Singapore Febuary 15, 1942. A part of E force that left Singapore 6 apr 1943 and remained at Berhala until june 5 1943. That is wwhen they moved to Sandakan Died on 13 feb 1945
