Jane died February 23, 1916 in Violet Bank, Nowra, New South Wales, Australia, at 94 years of age. Her body was interred February 25, 1916 in Presbyterian Cem, Nowra, New South Wales, Australia.
He was christened in Dumfries, Dumfries, Scotland, March 28, 1815. This family was researched by Mrs Carlile in Heber City Utah. John has been listed as a Constable and in later life as working on the Berry Estate. Typically a Constable usually had prior military service. His will is very literate and extensive. Some error in the family history concerning his arrival date. He married in Tasmania in 1837. The rest of his family came out in 1841 on the Brothers. John might have been in the Army? His son describes him as a quiet and silent man that new the land, and how to graft etc. He had a great judjement for animals. He was the first settler in Nowra.
