Augustus died December 20, 1893 in The Oaks, Childers, Queensland, Australia, at 69 years of age. His body was interred December 21, 1893 in Apple Tree Cmt, Childers, Queensland, Australia.

He married Janet Johnston in St Andrew`s, Manning, New South Wales, Australia, December 18, 1850. Janet was born in Charlotte Vale, Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia September 7, 1830. Janet was the daughter of William Johnston and Isabella Cunningham. Janet died October 19, 1923 in The Oaks, Childers, Queensland, Australia, at 93 years of age. Her body was interred October 19, 1923 in Apple Tree Cmt, Childers, Queensland, Australia. The Oaks Childers Queensland.

43 vi. Jessie Isabel Oakes was born in Macleay River, New South Wales, Australia June 27, 1860.

44 vii. Douglas Wauch Oakes was born in The Oakes, Macleay River, New South Wales, Australia July 24, 1862.

45 viii. Alexander Cosby Oakes was born in Macleay River, New South Wales, Australia April 29, 1864. Alexander died in Horton, Queensland, Australia. He married Lillian Hope Bloxham in Queensland, Australia, February 14, 1895.

+ 46 ix. Alfred Willis Oakes was born April 18, 1866.

47 x. Clara Louisa Oakes was born in Macleay River, New South Wales, Australia May 18, 1868. Clara died August 10, 1930 at 62 years of age.
