20. Henry Richard⁵ Oakes (Henry Robert⁴, Thomas³, Matthew², Matthew¹) was born in Madras, India March 30, 1821. Henry died September 13, 1857 in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia, at 36 years of age.

He married Susan Johnston October 14, 1846. Susan was born April 3, 1829. Susan was the daughter of William Johnston and Isabella Cunningham. Susan died July 12, 1905 at 76 years of age.

Henry Richard Oakes and Susan Johnston had the following children:

34 i. Isabella Macdonald⁶ Oakes was born September 9, 1847. She married Alfred Wauch July 23, 1865. Alfred was born August 2, 1836. Alfred was the son of R.a. Wauch Capt. Alfred died April 2, 1912 in Branga Park, Watcha, at 75 years of age. (See Alfred Wauch for the continuation of this line.)

35 ii. Helen Caroline Oakes was born April 2, 1852.

+ 36 iii. Thomas Henry Oakes was born July 12, 1854.

37 iv. Flora Jessie Oakes was born April 3, 1856. She married Neil Snodgrass August 22, 1877. Neil is the son of W.j. Snodgrass. (See Neil Snodgrass for the continuation of this line.)
