He married twice. He married Anne Ellen Gibb in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, June 6, 1905. Anne was born in Waterloo, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia 1878. Anne was the daughter of Ernest John Gibb and Annette Louisa Furlong. Anne died November 9, 1909 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, at 31 years of age. Her body was interred in Rookwood Cmt, New South Wales, Australia. He married May Sullivan in Rosebay, New South Wales, Australia, November 5, 1914. May was born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. May was the daughter of Charles Sullivan and Annie Furlong. May died February 5, 1968 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Fought in the Boer war with brother Robert Smith. Have pictures before and after the war as well as one on horseback. Have Victoria Medal marked New South Wales Imperial Bushmen. Entered the New South Wales penal system as a warder rose to be Prison Governor of Goulburn, Paramatta and Bathurst Gaols. Suggestion that middle name was originaly Francis and changed to Franklin in 1906 by deed poll. Founded Masonic Lodge at Doublebay and have copy of picture. Member of the Rotary Club.

Cecil was born in Moreton In Marsh, Gloucestershire, England May 17, 1892. Cecil died April 5, 1963 in Toongabbie, New South Wales, Australia, at 70 years of age. child 50 v. John Barker Ivan Smith was born in New South Wales, Australia October 8, 1919. John died 1945 in Sandakay, Borneo, at 25 years of age. His body was interred in Borneo. In the Australian Black Watch Regiment. Picture available. Hve a set of Cufflinks belonging to John.
