11. Patrick4 Johnston (George3, Patrick2, William1) was born in Kimmerghame, West Newton, Berwick, Scotland 1746. Patrick died 1831 in West Newton, Berwick, Scotland, at 85 years of age. His body was interred 1831 in Whitsome Grv'yd, Whitsome Parish, Berwick, Scotland.

He married Margaret Johnston in Whitsome Church, Whitsome Parish, Berwick, Scotland, about 1770. Margaret was born in Swinton, Berwick, Scotland 1747. Margaret was the daughter of Patrick Johnston and Margaret Landles. Margaret died 1829 in Whitsome Parish, Berwick, Scotland, at 82 years of age. Her body was interred 1829 in Whitsome Grv'yd, Whitsome Parish, Berwick, Scotland.

He was christened in Whitsome Church, Whitsome Parish, Berwick, Scotland. Tenant farmer on the Bucan Estate. The Estate of Kimmerghame is located four mile SE of Duns. It is now owned bt the Swinton Family. The farm house Middlestots still is in use.

Patrick Johnston and Margaret Johnston had the following children:

child 15 i. Johnston5 Agnes was born in Middlestots, West Newton, Berwickshire, Scotland before March 19, 1772. Johnston died April 24, 1849 in Scotland, at 77 years of age. She was christened in Whitsome Parish, West Newton, Berwickshire, Scotland, March 19, 1772. Her death is recorded on the family tombstone at Whitsome Churchyard. She did not marry.

child + 16 ii. George Johnston was born before March 7, 1773.

child 17 iii. Peter Johnston was born in Middlestots, West Newton, Berwickshire, Scotland before November 4, 1774. Peter died June 28, 1838 in Scotland, at 63 years of age. He was christened in Whitsome Parish, West Newton, Berwickshire, Scotland, November 4, 1774. Peter moved to Sweethope and Girrick in Roxburghshire, NW of Kelso.

child + 18 iv. William Johnston was born before November 29, 1776.

child 19 v. Adam Johnston was born in Middlestots, West Newton, Berwickshire, Scotland before July 8, 1778. Adam died August 10, 1779 in Middlestots, West Newton, Berwickshire, Scotland, at 1 year of age. His body was interred after August 10, 1779 in Middlestots, West Newton, Berwickshire, Scotland. He was christened in Whitsome Parish, West Newton, Berwickshire, Scotland, July 8, 1778.

child 20 vi. Margaret Johnston was born in Middlestots, West Newton, Berwickshire, Scotland before January 20, 1780. She married John Idington in Edrom, Berwickshire, Scotland, July 11, 1800. John was born in Westruther, Scotland before 1780. John died October 1, 1846 in Guelph, Ontario, Canada, at 67 years of age. His body was interred in Piuslinch Cem, Guelph, Ontario, Canada. child 21 vii. Jennett (Jessie) Johnston was born in Middlestots, West Newton, Berwickshire, Scotland before October 3, 1781. Jennett died August 24, 1861 in Scotland, at 79 years of age. She was christened in Whitsome Parish, West Newton, Berwickshire, Scotland, October 3, 1781.

child 22 viii. Alison (Alice) Johnston was born in Middlestots, West Newton, Berwickshire, Scotland before October 6, 1783. Alison died March 20, 1838 in Scotland, at 54 years of age. She was christened in Whitsome Parish, West Newton, Berwickshire, Scotland, October 6, 1783.

child 23 ix. James Johnston was born in Middlestots, West Newton, Berwickshire, Scotland before September 22, 1785. James died October 22, 1866 in Scotland, at 81 years of age. He was christened in Whitsome Parish, West Newton, Berwickshire, Scotland, September 22, 1785.

child 24 x. Adam Johnston was born in Middlestots, West Newton, Berwickshire, Scotland before November 24, 1789. Adam died 1872 in Keene, Ontario, Canada, at 82 years of age. He was christened in Whitsome Parish, West Newton, Berwickshire, Scotland, November 24, 1789. Emmigrated to Canada. Lived at Keene north of Peterborough,
