He married Charlotte Jane Emma Cosby in Bombay, India, February 12, 1772. Charlotte was born in India 1746. Charlotte was the daughter of Alexander Cosby Captain and Sarah Cummings. Charlotte died March 15, 1834 in Cheltenham, England, at 87 years of age. 2nd Lt. 3 June 1761; 1st Lt. 20 Aug 1764; Capt. 8 Dec 1767; Major------------; Lt. Col. 26 Dec 1781. ADC to Gov in Nov 1770. Lt. Col. E.R. and 2nd in command to Laurence Nilson, the C in C in Sept 1785 Will dated Bombay 9 Dec. 1782; Probated 7 Aug 1786. 30 years service Lt. Col. Regiment of Light Infantry at Bombay.
